My name is Hobie Higgins, but my friends call me OklaHobie.
Actually, that’s not true… almost no one calls me OklaHobie, but I’m hoping it catches on.
My goal with this site is to sell some merchandise to raise money for tourism and to share some fun content showcasing the great state of Oklahoma.
I’ve never been on social media before this, I’m not an influencer and I don’t have any followers, so not sure how this is going to work out.
I have always been an unapologetic, Oklahoma enthusiast, and recently I was appointed to be a Commissioner on the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission.
I believe Oklahoma is a bit of a hidden secret, but once people do visit Oklahoma, they are typically blown away by how cool it is.
I’m hoping this site, and the money we raise selling merchandise will somehow convince a few more tourists to give Oklahoma a chance.

I graduated from Oklahoma State and I’m a huge fan. Go Pokes!
I’ve lived in Tulsa for 35 years
I drink beer, not wine and I have a tendency to get overserved at golf tournaments
I’m pretty good at giving pep talks
I have two cats… Harlow and Haberdash
I don’t know a lot about the “Tulsa Sound” JJ Cale, Leon Russell, etc…. but I am a big Hanson fan.
My “claim to fame” is that as a 10-year-old I said “Thanks Mom” on a nationally televised Capri Sun commercial! (I’ve looked on Youtube but I can’t find it)
